Supplies for Underprivileged Kids
Art is an extraordinary opportunity for children to express themselves and allow their imaginations to run wild. Art is a therapeutic escape and a means of connection.
Unfortunately, art programs in the US are greatly underfunded and neglected.
Last summer, I taught an art class at the Santa Barbara Boys and Girls Club. I quickly noticed that the Boys and Girls Club had minimal art supplies and an abundance of children that were eager to create art and express themselves. These children still amazed me with their capacity for creativity and enthusiasm for art, leading me to wonder how much more they could create if they had the necessary supplies.
In an effort to make creativity a possibility for all people, I have started a project called Supply & Create. Our mission is to collect used and new art supplies and donate the materials to local after school programs such as the Boys & Girls Club and YMCA.
We need your donation so that we can begin to promote our mission, fund projects and events, purchase additional supplies, and expand.
