My sister’s home is just five houses down from me.
Last night, we experienced the scariest moment of our lives…. watching Kathleen’s home become engulfed in flames in the middle of the night.
Her roommate, our cousin Margaret, had a dream that Jesus was telling her to wake up Kathleen and get out of the house. By the grace of God, she woke up. When she looked out the window she saw the back porch was on fire. She screamed to wake Kathleen, and the two of them grabbed their dogs and ran out as fast as they could.
The fire spread quickly throughout the house and next door neighbors house had also caught fire. Margaret called me, and I ran over. Seeing the flames from down our street was something I will never forget.
Kathleen and Margaret are safe (& the neighbors) but they lost everything. Their home is completely destroyed, and all of their belongings are ruined. They now have to start over from nothing.
Kathleen is a tremendous nurse who has always cared for others. Margaret is a fantastic social worker and fights for the best for her patients.. and now they need our help.
We are surrounded by such an incredible community, and we are so grateful. If you feel called to give, any amount…big or small… it will go directly toward helping them rebuild their lives.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity during this unimaginable time.
Shoutout to the amazing Firefighters of Shawnee!!
