Tears for Dallas

Donation protected
Dallas is my 6 year old baby girl. In August of 2013 she was diagnosed with Mast cell carcinoma. She had her first surgery to remove the tumors on September 13th. Unfortunately, after the surgery I noticed that she was barely able to open her eyes due to so much mucus build up. After multiple vet visits I was told she now would no longer produce tears and was referred to an eye specialist. This is where she was diagnosed with KCS (Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca.) A condition where the eyes aren't producing enough tears to keep the eye lubricated. Although the liquid portion of tears is not being made...the mucus portion still is. This causes a thick discharge to build up in her eyes. I have been told that to her, this would feel like having sand in your eyes all the time.

Right now Dallas is on 3 different types of eye drops to try and keep her as comfortable as possible, and to prevent infection. She also has to be given a 4th eye drop because she has an allergic reaction to one of the drops that cause her eyes to swell shut. The only real solution is surgery. The surgery entails removing a portion of her salivary glands to place in her eyes. This will provide her eyes with the moisture that she needs to be pain free!

The only problem is that this surgery costs over 3500.00. With all of the costs that come along with eye specialist appointments and her eye medications I am unable to afford this. I have created this page in hopes that I can raise some money to get my baby girl the comfort that she deserves!

Thank you for taking the time to read her story!
