Send SWHS Jazz Band to Competition

Tax deductible
With the generosity of so many, funds raised through GoFundMe, private donations, and other fundraisers paid to send the award-winning South Whidbey High School Jazz Band to compete in the prestigious Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival, one of the most exclusive jazz festivals in the country.

Any additional funds raised will now be used toward funding travel to compete in future national or international festivals.  All donations qualify as tax deductible and are managed by the Board of the South Whidbey High School Performing Arts Boosters 501(c)(3) in Langley, WA.

These 18 students from a very small, rural public high school made it to the top as one of only 13 jazz bands invited to be finalists in Monterey (out of 130 bands that entered nation-wide).  Their competion performance was outstanding and got very high marks from all the judges for their musicality, professionalism, joy of playing jazz, and their excellent performance.

These are truly outstanding musicians with an incredible work ethic, who understand what it takes to achieve excellence.  This year, the South Whidbey High School Jazz Band took first place at the Clark College Jazz festival in the 2A division and placed first in its division at the Lionel Hampton International Jazz festival.  See their Lionel Hampton performance here.

Thank you for making a difference in these young people’s lives and education!

Check back, soon we will have the links to listen to their outstanding Monterey performance!
