All my life I have struggled with my gender identity and when I learnt that I wasn't alone and that their was hope for my future, well I felt relieved. I have been on T for almost 2 years now but due to my financial situation I've been unable to afford the surgery. With your help I'd like to finally get my surgery done. This surgery is crucial to my mental health as a transgender person we often suffer from disphoria - the feeling that something is terrible wrong with your body - these strong feelings often lead to depression and poor mental health overall. Which is why psychiatrists often recommend getting top surgery done within. 6-9 months of starting Testosterone. Having been on it for nearly 2 years is not only affect my mental health but my physical health as well. With the cost of the surgery coming to just shy of 9000$ after fees and taxes I fear I will be unable to save up enough money in time. Currently I have about 4000$ saved up but I still need another 4000$ just to cover the bare minimun of the surgery, ideally I'd need another 1000$ ontop of that so I can take the much needed time off from work to recover. With my surgery date quickly approaching I know I'd never be able to pay for this on my own even with the extra part time job I picked up to help pay for it. This is where you come in. In short I need money so I can pay for a surgery that will improve my mental health and life overall. Your support would mean the world to me, and would help me in ways you'd never know.
