Tandem10
The Tandem10 is a tandem bike ride alone for 10,000 miles across South East Asia grabbing people to ride on the back along the way. I'll document the entire adventure as it's happening with video, photography, and regular blog posts.
My name is Eric and after serious bouts of depression I felt a calling. A calling to live a life worth living. I have always
been pulled to books as I needed them in my life. The story would call
to me. Now there is a new story that is calling me. Whenever embarking
on an adventure of this magnitude the end result never meets
expectations and in many cases exceeds them or is simply different. I
don't what I'll find but I know that there is a profound story.
I knew from the idea's inception that I wanted to combine this with social good. I have felt most enamored with random acts of kindness. Those moments when someone saw a need and provided out of pure kindness. South East Asia is home to some of the poorest and in-need people on the planet. A couple US dollars go a LONG way there. For every donation that I receive to fund my trip HALF will go into a Random Acts of Kindness Fund. Along the way as I find a child that needs a book, a mother that has sacrificed her shoes so that her children can eat, or a family that hasn't had a good meal in days, I will use the Random Acts of Kindness Fund to provide a little bit of help. In doing so I will document and, when possible connect via social media, those who have donated with the place that their funds were used.
