Teaching Children Through Music
Donation protected
Galilee Ministries (GM) seeks funding to sustain the Tree House Music Education Program (THME), a unique and diverse community faith-based youth initiative that was developed to supplement drastically reduced school budgets in the arts. We have served 21 participants in urban communities in and around metropolitan Boston, MA since 2012. We are supported by volunteers, public and private donations and various locally operated grant sources.
The Tree House Music Education Program (THME) introduces music and specifically the keyboard to underserved boys and girls ages 7-17, who are at-risk of becoming victims or perpetrators of community violence.
The youth have an opportunity to learn to play the keyboard and read and write music at no cost to the family. Midway through the program participants who demonstrate a desire to learn heathy age appropriate life skills and an interest furthering their keyboard education are allowed to keep their keyboard to continue learning and practicing while at home. Therefore the program has to replace keyboards and related equipment each cycle. Thank you for your support.
