Team Irwin

The Irwin's moved to Zionsville in 2012.  At the time, Jeff Irwin became the Athletic Director at Lawrence Central and Tanya Irwin continued to work in technology at Purdue University.  Their two daughters, Avery, 5yrs old at the time, and Aliyah, 6months old, started at Primrose in Anson.  In the spring of 2014, Tanya was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.  After chemo and radiation, they thought they had beat cancer.  Then in March of this past year, Tanya found out that she had metastic breast cancer to the lungs and bones.  In December, after intense chemotherapy was winding down, the cancer metasticized to her brain.  Tanya was given 3 to 6 months to live.  She continues to fight and beat the odds.  Her goal is to see Avery start middle school in the fall and to see Aliyah start kindergarten.
    Jeff is home this semester taking care of Tanya and the girls.  They have lost a sizeable amount of Tanya's revenue, coupled with her inability to care for herself during the day and the girls at night.  In-home care is very expensive along with care in the evenings.  They need help funding in-home care for Tanya and also for the girls when Jeff goes back to work.  Care for Tanya is a medical bill and care for the girls is a reality with his evening work schedule as an Athletic Director.  
     The Irwin's continue to stay positive each day in part because of the encouragement and support of the Zionsville Community and those in the entire metro area.  They are humbled and appreciative for the love, kindness, and support.
    This site will give us all a chance to support the Irwins just as we would hope to be supported.  We all need help at one time or another.  Their time happens to be now.  Please continue to pray for Tanya's quality of life and strength for their family.
