The Semanhyiya Project
Donation protected
Lack of sanitary products prevent many girls from attending school in the developing world. After repeated absences, many girls drop out of school permanently. The Semanhyiya Project, working alongside the God Fred’s Foundation, is addressing this in Senase, Ghana at the Semanhyiya American School. Through a self-sufficient business model, teenagers will produce reusable sanitary pads to be donated to girls within the school. Excess pads will be sold to local shopkeepers to purchase additional material. Reusable cloth pads will last 3-5 years with proper care.
