theComfyMisfit's Road To Journalism

Greetings! I first want to say thank you for taking the time out to read my campaign. I hope all is going well on your end, and that you can help make me make my filmmaking dreams come true!

I was able to purchase my first starter camera back in December of 2016, with the hopes of starting my own production company. The goal I had in mind, was to eventually start producing video content and filmmaking. With very limited equipment, I began to "master the craft" of photography and I haven't put my camera down ever since.

Currently unemployed, but steady on the job hunt, I started my blog theComfyMisfit in June of 2017 to give me something to do while on the job search, and it has started to take off faster than I imagined.

After starting the blog, I have been offered several community positions that would allow me to not step more into a community organizer/ activist role, but that would also allow me to produce more content for the blog and be a more powerful voice in the community as well.  One of the positions is photographer / advertisement manager for a city councilman running for office, and the other is a board member for a local arts programs. I have also had one of my articles published on Blavity.com and I've started to get the attention of a few editors and publishers.

All of the content up until this point, has been produced with a Canon T6 18-55mm lens and edited on a Galaxy S5. (My current laptop is pretty dated and will not update for the editing software)

Your contribution will be used to purchase photo/video equipment that will be used to produce content for theComfyMisfit blog, as well as other freelance media work. Below is a short list of essential items needed, that would be attained with your donation. 

-Updated/ faster CPU
- Lense: 24mm, 50mm, 70-200 mm
-Camera Flash
-Neewer Film Movie System
-Rode mic
-Accessories: grips, stabilizers, lighting, filters, etc..

I know this may seem like a lot, but the equipment is expensive, which I really didn't know HOW expensive before I started. But this is something that I really want to do, and I need help.
