Delivering Free New Books to Kids!

We are The Literacy Club.  Our mission is to Inspire Communities One Book at a Time!

We do this by distributing free new books at community events and by building custom mini libraries and placing them throughout our cities in places like community parks, homeless shelters, police departments and many other locations.

We have built over 50 libraries and distributed over 20,000 books in just two years. 

We are seeding the book deserts within our inner cities with new books.  A book desert is where there are many kids/families who want and need books but cannot get them.  There are many reasons that contribute to the limited access, such as economic, cultural or geographic challenges.  No matter what the reason we are determined to find ways to remove the barriers to accessing books by seeding these book deserts with brand new books.

Reading is one of the most important things we can give our kids and BOOKS ARE AMAZING.  Books don’t care about your race, economic status, sexual orientation, or even religious beliefs.  It doesn’t matter to a book, when each of us open the book, we ALL have the same opportunity to dream, imagine, learn or laugh.

We are ready to take our book seeding to the next level by creating an amazing Mobile Book Distribution Trailer.  We will be turning a regular trailer into an awesome and inspiring vehicle that we can use to distribute more books to more kids!    

We will go to disasters like fires, floods or earthquakes and give away books to kids of all ages who are displaced as a result of the disaster.   We will open the doors and they can come in and find a book and keep it for FREE! 

When we are not distributing at disaster relief locations we will go to community events to hand out more free books.   If we are not distributing the books with the trailer, we will continue to build & deliver more inspiring libraries filled with more books!

We need your help to make this happen.  OUR GOAL:  we are trying to raise $10,000.  With the funds we will buy the trailer, all the materials to transform it and tons of new books (no literally tons!)  We will also use the money to help fund more amazing libraries filled with new books!  

The more money we raise, the more communities we can seed with books and continue to chip away at our book deserts!
