Hello, I’m Tristan Riddell, publisher of The Nerd Party. We’re a group that hosts a network of podcasts, a blog, and several social media accounts. I’m talking to you today because we need your help. I need your help.
The reason is that our network was hit by a legal claim. I cannot go into specifics but the amount they are asking for is less than what it would be to go to court and they know that.
But The Nerd Party is not-for-profit and just a group of nerds talking about nerdy things. We don’t have insurance or anything like that. I need your help to fight this and to help with predatory legal practices like this.
As I said before, I cannot go into specifics but what I can say is that if The Nerd Party can get hit the way we were, any one of us could. If you have a podcast, a blog, a website with patrons, or even just a simple store selling non-copyrighted merchandise, this could happen to you.
Help us, help me, fight this. I’m the publisher and so I’m ultimately liable for everything. The amount we’re asking for will otherwise have to come out of my personal finances. Every cent donated will go towards legal costs.
A lot of you have listened to me on podcasts for 5, 6, 7 years. I’m asking for your help. We all spend a lot of money as nerds on conventions, media, action figures, collectibles, and hopefully, you can devote some of that towards this fight.
