The Nurturing Place: A Healing Center for All

Isn’t that picture awesome? Those are my kids - joyful, free, fully self-expressed! I love this picture so much. The energy it carries is my intention for every person. That each of us is lit-up the same way my boys are in this picture.

I’ve been on a personal growth journey for over 20 years. In that time I’ve done a lot including taking experiential courses, bodywork, participating in Eastern medicine practices, therapy and reading dozens of books.

I am incredibly grateful for my journey so far. I have experienced tremendous healing and growth over the past 20 years and have expanded in ways I didn’t know were possible. Along the way, I also found my calling: to make healing and growth accessible to all and bring joy into the process.

I’m raising funds for The Nurturing Place: a healing and personal growth center. The first physical location will be in Austin, Texas. I’ve spent the past three years creating the model for the Nurturing Place, building a team of mentors, and sharing the model with key people. I did all of this in my spare time outside of work/mom life. I’m now focusing on The Nurturing Place full-time and am raising funds to support this initial phase.

What is The Nurturing Place?

The Nurturing Place is a healing and growth center where the intention is to “heal the whole person” mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

The space is set-up similar to a gym where we offer multiple modalities in service to healing the whole person including:

- Classes

- Individual Therapy

- Group Therapy

- Library and resource center

- The Playground (an outdoor space designed for unstructured creative expression)

Like a gym or the YMCA, all of this is accessible to members. Members pay monthly membership dues for access to classes, group therapy, the playground, and the library & resource center. Individual therapy is available at a discount to typical rates.

The Nurturing Place is a space to learn and practice so that you can heal and grow. Our intention is to create an environment where vulnerability is safe to explore, setting boundaries is encouraged, and creativity and curiosity are ignited.

Stages of Funding

Key Needs:

Below is a list of needs for the launch year of The Nurturing Place. The $150,000 raised via this GoFundMe will support the following activities over the next 12 months:

• Initial Set-up: The Nurturing Place will either be set-up as a 501c(3) nonprofit or as a public benefit organization. To determine which path to go down the initial set-up phase will include:

• Incorporate and build a Board of Directors: Once the initial set-up assessment is complete, TNP will incorporate and begin outreach to build a board of directors.

• Fundraise for Phase 2 (Running a Pilot Program): Raise $1.5 million from either philanthropic sources or from investors based on how TNP is organized. This funding will be used to build and run a minimum viable product (MVP). An MVP is a pilot program of The Nurturing Place that will be conducted in rented space in Austin, Texas.

• Find Content Experts to Design Pilot: Run a process for finding content experts in each of the healing modalities that TNP will have so that once $1.5 million has been secured, together we can design a minimum viable product to iterate and test the TNP model.

Any additional funds raised beyond $150,000 with be used to support phase 2: running a pilot program for The Nurturing Place in Austin, Texas. You can learn more about the fundraising stages and what each stage will support here.
