In memory of our baby boy Tiarnán Seón Mallon

On 18th November 2021 our beautiful baby boy Tiarnán was born sleeping at 36+2 weeks. With his first heavenly birthday fast approaching, Niall and I would like to raise funds to donate a cuddle cot to Antrim Area Hospital as a tribute to Tiarnán.

Following Tiarnáns birth, I myself was critically ill and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Having to stay 5 days in hospital, we were blessed to be provided with a cuddle cot which allowed us to have Tiarnán beside me so I could see and hold him, and made it possible for us to bring him home for 2 nights. This gave us great comfort in what is the most heartbreaking time in our lives. It enabled us to make precious, everlasting memories with Tiarnán, to get lots of photos, hand and foot prints, to feel his presence in our home, which will always remain, and most importantly, it gave us the gift of time as a family of 4 with his big brother Éanna.

Unfortunately not all bereaved parents are able to avail of a cuddle cot so dont get time with their babies and this truly upsets us. We would be honoured to be able to provide at least one cuddle cot to hopefully bring some comfort to and create memories for other families who sadly face the devastating loss of their babies.

We will be eternally grateful to the staff of Antrim Area Hospital for the care, compassion and empathy they bestowed on us, and for saving my life in very difficult circumstances. This is our way of giving something back to them.

There will be a fundraising Afternoon Tea taking place in The Glen Centre, Maghera on Saturday 19th November following Tiarnáns First Anniversary Mass. A prize raffle will also take place during this event along with lots of fun activities for all the family. 

I have started this online fundraiser in the meantime to get the ball rolling for anyone who cant join us on the day but would like to contribute to our cause. Niall and I would be extremely grateful for any donation received.
