4200 MILES: Adventure & Self-Discovery
On January 16th, 2016, I began a journey from the Southernmost Point of the United States in Key West, Florida with the goal of reaching the Canadian Border at Fort Fairfield, Maine by October of this year. Sounds a bit unbelievable, I know.
My trail name is Trek and I’m embarking on a pilgrimage of self-discovery along the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail, the Florida National Scenic Trail, and the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. My hope for this adventure is to become a better human being and cosmic citizen; by connecting more deeply with our awe-inspiring natural world and by joining my fellow humans in fellowship along the way. And I'm writing a book about it.
As someone who struggles with mental illness and neurological disabilities, I know that very step I take, every mountain I climb, every state I walk through is not only one more toward achieving my life dream to thru-hike the Eastern United States, but also toward overcoming my own personal mountains to get there.

What am I asking for?
I’m asking you to help me reach a goal of $10,000, $1000 per month to cover ten months of hiking. This covers gear, food, and permit expenses along the way, in addition to any other expenses that might come up.
