Tragically we are mourning the lost of Trish Mahoney, who recently passed after getting the flu, contracting bacterial pnemonia, and while fighting for her life had a massive stroke and left us. Trish was a hard working, single mom; after a divorce from her children's father she relied heavily on her parents and extended family. The children's father, Lou, who was also a very loving and involved parent passed away 3 years ago and Trish's parents who helped her with the children, especially in the younger years recently passed as well. The loss of all these very influential people within the last four years is extremely diffcult for the children to comprehend and bear. Numbing to say the least.
The children are left with loving memories of a mother's unconditional love and support, strong family values and faith which are the real riches in this world. She cherised Tara Alberse, Caitlin Alberse, and LJ Alberse and always did whatever was necessary to take care of them. Some of you may remember her from high school, college, the mortage business, running the grill at Minisink or her joy of being a nanny for your children when she changed her career to become a full time care giver for LJ after his father passed. She worked hard to provide for her children and take care of others. Unfortunately, Tara and Caitlin, along with her new husband, John Behre, will also be facing tough realities of hospital bills, funeral costs and figuring out the best way to continue their mother's work of providing a stable, loving, environment and future for their special needs brother LJ.
We are hoping to raise funds to help offset these costs and hopefully provide some long term financial resources for Tara, Caitlin, and LJ to ease this burden. The family is asking instead of flowers, meals or memorials that we do what Trish would have wanted and remember her and how she cared for her children. If even in her death she can in some small way provide a better future for her children we know she would be forever grateful and know we understood the value of her time with us and the legacy she wanted to leave in all our memories.
