Mike and Marsha McCarroll have supported our community for years. Teams, fundraisers, proms -- you name it, they don't say no. Their family is now fighting cancer. Here's our chance to support them right back! (info on their son, Chase, is below)
Chances are, if you live in Essex County you've benefitted from the McCarroll's generosity and overwhelming support of our community. If you, your kids, or grandkids have played sports, gone to prom, raised money for school trips, come to Social Center teen events or the musical, been in a youth commission program, or benefitted from innumerable community fundraisers, then you have directly or indirectly benefitted from their support.
Their son Chase has been fighting an aggressive Hodgkins Lymphoma for over a year. Treatments are not working. He is in Albany Med right now. He just received radiation and is trying an experimental drug to try to get the tumors to shrink enough so he can be transported to Mount Sinai in New York City in two weeks. He MIGHT be a candidate for another experimental treatment there, through the Christmas season. His insurance WILL NOT cover this. If not, he will need to decide whether to leave the hospital and enjoy his time at home with his family. He has fought hard for over a year, but further options are limited.
Chase and his wife, Nacole, have a two-year-old, Aiden, and a 16-year-old, James.
