Funeral funds for Michael Ortega

It is with great sadness and grief that I reach out to my family and friends.
Yesterday at 8:33 I received a call that any parent would hate to hear. "Michael collapsed during his game and an ambulance is on there way. A nurse on the field is administering CPR and he is unresponsive. " My first thought is fight Michael, fight to live the next chapter of your life, and I prayed. I asked God to please spare him because a broken heart is no heart. Running onto that field was the longest run of my life. I seen them working so hard to keep him here with us. Mike was unresponsive on route to Pomona Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:36 pm on May 4th. It is a roller coaster of emotions. I am angry, I'm sad and worried for his siblings that will miss him so much. Now comes the part I was unprepared for. I never thought I would bury my son before me so I never thought to make arrangements for him. I never thought I would have to think about where we would bury our 18 year old son and what would come next. Please pray for our family, the devastating loss of my first born son is unbearable. We are in the process of trying to figure out how we will pay for my sons expenses. I humbly ask my family and friends to please reach in your heart and donate to help elevate some of the financial burdens that we are now left to deal with. Any and all help is appreciated. For those of you that knew Michael know how much he loved life, his teammates that were his brothers, and his family. He was good boy that wanted to just live by his own rules, such a free spirit. He was not only my son but my teacher. He was a big brother who loved very passionately. He loved to cuddle with his mommy, he would crawl in my bed and we would just talk and laugh. Michael loved the game of soccer. He always played with his heart completely. He told me once, "Mom, I really love playing. I'm good at it and it's part of who I am. Soccer is a game played with heart and if you have no heart you're not a true soccer player." He would kneel before he played and run his hand across the field and smell grass, that was his place that was his love and he died doing what he loved. He even had his special cleats, such a silly boy. The Ronaldo's make me better and faster, lighter. I would tease him. But now he's my angels kicking and playing in heaven. I know I will see him again someday. I love you Michael Anthony Ortega with all my heart. You're my heart Pops. Just keep kicking.
