The TwirlTasTix Baton Twirling Team
is pleased, actually over the moon, to announce that we have been selected to perform at the Presidential Inaugural Welcome Concert on January 19th at the Lincoln Memorial!!!
This concert will kick of the Inauguration festivities and we are so honored to be performing for our country, for the States we represent (Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania), for the sport of baton twirling, and for all the hard working twirlers who are going to show the world what an awesome sport baton twirling is!!
We are hoping to raise $6500 by January 15th  to cover the costs for this event which include, buses, costumes, new batons, security belts, shoes, tights, makeup and hair accessories, and lunch and dinner for the day trip.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we are so thrilled and honored to have this opportunity.
About us: The TwirlTasTix Baton Twirling team is a baton twirling group which performs and competes all over the country. We hail from Bel Air, Maryland which is the county seat for Harford County, one of the counties in Maryland.
The twirlers range in age from 6 to age 21. They have won championships at the state, regional and national level, recently placing top ten in 6 our of ten teams at the NBTA national championships at Notre Dame University in South Bend, IN this past summer, with one team placing 3rd in the Junior Large Advanced division. Several of the twirlers also hold Solo Championship titles at the state, regional and national level. Last summer, the TwirlTasTix sent a delegation of twirlers to the Canadian National Baton Twirling Championships in Toronto. Christine Zoll, team director, was also an honored judge at this prestigious event.
The TwirlTasTix perform at many parades, events for charity and sporting events. We recently performed at the Chesapeake Cancer Alliance Festival of Trees, University of Delaware football games, and Harford Community College basketball games. We have twirled in the Macy’s Parade in Pittsburgh, the Baltimore St. Patrick’s and Thanksgiving Parade, and dozens of local Christmas and 4th of July parades.
The directors, Christine Zoll and Eva Grove, have danced and twirled for over 30 years each. Christine grew up in the world champion Daley Debutantes and marched over the green river in the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day parade for over 15 consecutive years. Eva studied Musical Theatre at the University of Toledo and performed professionally for several years with a touring group. She recently performed a main role in “Anything Goes” at Harford Community College.
The motto of the group is “Be Your Best” which is exactly what we will be.
Baton Twirling is an American originated sport and we will represent this sport and the great State of Maryland with dignity and expertise if we should be chosen. We plan to wear specially designed American themed costumes for this parade. The costumes will be modest and provide a flattering and warm costume for the performers.
