INGUTSHENI APPEAL

Ingutsgeni hospital is located in Bulawayo, second largest city of Zimbabwe, affectionately known as city of Kings. Ingutsheni was established in 1903 as a mental health asylum catering for the needs of 'society's forgotten'. Ingutsheni became a fully flagged Mental Health Hospital in 1993 with a full time psychiatrist brought over from England. The hospital has grown to a capacity of over 600 beds and is now exclusively concerned with the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with mental health disoders. 

Unfortunately like many Zimbabwean institutions during this difficult time, the requirements of the hospital and it's patients are not always met.

The hospital is currently in a dire situation.  There is serious shortage of drugs/ medication. Nurses are being beaten up by unwell patients and there's been suicide cases due to lack of medication.

The hospital needs Antidepressants, Antipsychotics, Mood stabilisers, Sleeping tableys and  Minor Tranqulisers.
 We are also appealing to pharmaceutical companies, medical manufactures and distributors for product donations.
