WM1K-Mike Perry's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Mike Perry - WM1K returned home today, May 15, 2015 after a week in the hospital with complications from chemotherapy. His chemo began just 3 weeks ago.

7 weeks ago Mike was in the midst of changing jobs when this discomfort first appeared and he did not hesitate to get it checked.  Doctors feared it was testicular cancer and wanted it removed.  Surgery occurred 2 weeks later and testing confirmed it was testicular cancer but they also found it reached his lymphnodes. Before beginning chemo, the doctors wanted to insert a stent /catheter to insure that all his liquid output would not be closed off throughout the chemo treatments.

Today he's tired, hadn't slept well at the hospital but is very happy to be home. He told me today that he received a letter of denial on his Short-term disability. This means he has no money coming in.

Mike has been a loyal ground crew member and operator at KY1H/K1TTT/WK1Q, N1RR, KB1H and N1AU and has helped other stations. He is a member of Yankee Clipper Contest Club and he loves CW and RTTY, classic rock, and the Boston Bruins. He has also liked auto racing for years, even on-line racing and has been to NHRA and NASCAR events.

He's been a licensed Ham Radio operator since the mid-80's, starting as KA1LSZ. He earned his Amateur Extra class ham radio license in 1990 and became WJ1P and decided one year later to change his call and was issued WM1K. Everyone knows him as "W-Mike".

Mike loves ham radio, especially contest competitions with all the boys around the world, and DXing.

Your donations will go towards his weekly medical insurance payment, medical co-pays and perscriptions, food,  and car. His only debt is his car loan and he's proud to have his callsign on his license plate. Your donation will insure that he keeps that car, and that plate and that he can drive himself to get his treatments. Your donations will keep his cellphone active so he can receive and make calls for his appointments and receive his treatments.

Mike has been an EMT / Ambulance driver and has been helping others for many years. Now he needs help.

Mike has been a great friend to me for over 20 years and he really needs a lot of your help today.

Thank You
