HELP RHS ROBOTICS GET TO ST. LOUIS
Donation protected
We are the Rosemont High School Robotics Team. When we first started as a FIRST Robotics Competition team in December 2014, we had no idea what we were truly getting into. Most of the members of our team never even heard of the FIRST Robotics Competition. However, after competing at the Sacramento Regionals, we all knew that FIRST was something we all wished to continue.
So, we did. The 2015 season Recycle Rush had rushed in, and it conquered us. We had placed 48th out of 55 teams.
We still strove to improve ourselves as a team, and in the beginning of the 2016 season, we had one goal. All we wished for is to be able to play in the playoffs, something we had never done. Proudily, we can say that we had done much more than that, much more than we ever expected. We had been chosen to be in an alliance and play in the playoffs, an alliance that would end up winning the Sacramento Regional.
With this win, we have the amazing opportunity to take part in the FIRST Championships in St. Louis, Missouri in April 27-30th, 2016. However, with this unexpected win, we are scrambling to get the $25,000 to take our team to St. Louis in such a short amount of time. We have been able to secure $10,000 through the support from our school and school district. We only need $15,000 more to be able to go to FIRST Championships. Being able to go to St. Louis means the world to our team and our school. We would be the first school in our entire school district who would be going to FIRST Championships as Regional Winners. Our school is also a Title 1 school, meaning most of our students come from low-income families who would not be able to afford the luxury of going to St. Louis on their own.
Thank you for taking your time to read this, and we hope to make you all proud at St. Louis!
