Airmen are running a marathon for Toby!
Toby is the son of one of my AIrmen who was born with a tiny body but a HUGE heart.  His parents, Elizabeth and Joshua were told during her pregnacy that Toby looked too small to survive and that they should terminate the pregnacy at 20 weeks.  Termination of Toby's unborn life  was not an option for the couple, and they decided to fight for his life.  The struggle was difficult, but he survived and is thriving today.  Elizabeth was moved by her experience and the knowledge that 12.8% of babies are born premature in the United States.  She was moved to action and founded a nonprofit organization to help families and babies like hers.  I have been watching her progress with admiration for the last year and some months wondering how I could help.  I was struck by the idea today, and I am also moved into action by doing what Airmen do best.  I got a team of Airmen together that have pledged to run the Denver Rock and Roll Marathon on 18 October while raising pledges from caring folks that they know and kind strangers.  We have come together as a team to perform as we always do...as the world's best team with a unified goal to bring comfort to America's babies.  Please donate whatever you can....you can donate per mile (26.2!!) or a flat donation.  Every dollar counts and we are thankful!  Please help my AIrmen as they continue to give everything in their hearts and bones to America's babies!
