A love gone too soon

Less than 8 years ago, my big sis, Carol Tanksley (some of you knew her as Elvonne Whitney), fell in love and married a wonderful man. It was such a beautiful thing to watch this deep heart connection between my sister and "Big Al"! Sadly this morning, February 21, 2016, we received word that Al passed away.
In Carol's words: "I want to let all my friends know that this morning my husband Al took his journey to eternity. My heart is broken, but I am so grateful that this is not the end of the story! I am grateful that he is no longer suffering. It's we who need God's comfort.
"O death, where is thy sting?
O grave, where is thy victory?"
For those of you who knew us, the last seven plus years have been the happiest of my life, and I believe some of the happiest of his as well. God did a wonderful thing in giving me these years with a man who loved and cherished me, and loved God the way Al did.

There's never a good time for a death, and this one is particularly heart-wrenching as my sister and her soul mate had such a brief time together. We're asking for help to get me and my mother and Carol's other siblings to be with her in Austin, TX during this difficult time. Any contributions beyond travel costs will go to help with all those little things no one thinks of but that always have a cost. As always, your prayers and good thoughts are the most important and are deeply appreciated.
