Unleash Your Super Power!

The "Unleash Your Super Power!" project connects pediatric patients with their inner hero through costume, creative expression and imagination on film. It's a partnership between Jackman Films and The Skybound Initiative .  

We piloted this project during a half-day visit to Texas Children's Hospital (see the finished video here), and we need your help to be able to do this work on a more regular basis. 

It's been proven that how we act, stand and view ourselves in particular situations can impact how we feel.  For pediatric patients going through challenging medical treatments, the chance to get in touch with their own resourcefulness, creativity, fun and imagination can be empowering.

Here's how the project works -- each time we visit a hospital for a half-day event: 

- Pediatric patients choose a hero cape (handmade by volunteers)
- They define their own real-life super powers and design a heroic character and emblem
- They get in front of a green screen and bring their character to life through actions and words on film (including the chance to "fly", complete with "wind")
- The film clips are combined with super hero effects and shared with the patients and families

Here's how your support will help -- you'll enable us to do multiple hospital visits in the coming year and create corresponding super hero videos. 

You will fund:
- The supplies and equipment needed to create homemade hero capes
- Filming time at the hospital
- Film and music editing, and special effects creation
