Nepal Quake Monsoon Relief Fund
Donation protected
'From rich cultural heritage to dusty rubbles within seconds on a normal day.' That is what mother nature brought upon Nepal on 25 April 2015. With a magnitude of 7.8M, a deadly earthquake struck Nepal, compromising thousands of lives along with wiping out historical buildings from the face of earth.
With continuous after shocks, one after the other, large number of survivors were still in danger. As if that wasn't enough for a punishment, two weeks after the first major earthquake, another earthquake followed through on 12 May 2015 with a moment magnitude of 7.3. M. The quake left with more damages, testing the patience and resilience of the Nepalese community. Heavy loss and huge trauma is what majority of survivors are left with.
Today, survivors are camping out in open areas with the fear of another quake hitting the country again. They are surviving on relief materials sent in through foreign donations and national aid.
What should we worry about next?
With monsoon season right around the corner, we anticipate a lot of people to suffer from unbearable amount of rain, struggle in finding permanent shelter to stay away from the rain, and clothings to keep them warm.
How can we help?
We are collecting donations from our personal network, your personal network, and their personal network, to help supply following items to limited thousands among all the rest that survived:
1. Insect repellents
2. Water filtration Bottle
3. Mylar Blanket
4. Umbrella
The items will be funnelled through trustworthy non-profits with their boots on ground. One of our focus areas will be Dolakha District with 90% of the homes down to rubble. With sanitation being one of the biggest threats in the aftermath, we intend to distribute sanitary supplies and help build public toilets.
According to the World Health Organization, "lack of access to clean water and sanitation kills children at a rate equivalent of a jumbo jet crashing every ten hours". We can prevent such epidemic if we start early. Help by donating.
