Yukon's Chisholm Trail Mural
Donation protected
The Chisholm Trail wall mural at 4th and Main in Yukon, OK was painted in 1987 , unvailed the morning of the first Chisholm Trail Festival, dedicated by Dale Robertson who posed as the trail boss. I am the original wall mural artist, Joy Willingham , proposing a restoration of the mural in time for the upcoming 75th Anniversary of Czech Days Festival which is the first weekend in October . Bob Palmer (famous Oklahoma muralist) has agreed to work with me on this project. We will begin painting Sept.15. The mural is 28 years old and has showed signs of fading pretty bad. The cost for supplies, etc. + labor is 7500.
These funds would need to be collected prior to start.
If we can have one person donate the full amount, we will have a bronze plaque with their name engraved on it to place under the mural as the donor of the restoration. This Mural Art is most appreciated by the townspeople and visitors alike. Contact Joy Willingham for more information.
