Aloha Mai Kakou, We are Wa'a Hamakua and we are humbly privileged to carry the responsibility of returning Hawaiian Sailing Canoes to Hamakua. With the success of raising funds to build a '24 Double Hull Sailing Canoe we are now ready to build!
We are also getting ready to build a Hale Wa'a(canoe house),equip canoe and crew members for safety as we train to embark on a series of coastal and channel crossing voyages to raise awareness of Aloha 'Aina not just in Hamakua but to the world by documenting all events as we move forward to better our relationship with our earth and communities through the pathways and practices of our ancestors .
This Wa'a and all Wa'a of Hamakua are in full support and is of service to the Aloha 'Aina on Mauna A Wakea and Lanakilas Hamakua Community efforts to raise awareness and practice of our Kupuna and there way of living .

Funds will go to meals, foul Weather Gear , Safety Gear ,solar inverter , documenting gear and a Hale(canoe house) for the canoe and its crewmembers that will be building and sailing this canoe.
