Fall Folk Fest: Athens 2015

Since its inception over six years ago, Folk Fest has grown from a small backyard gathering in a Columbus suburb into a staple event for the Athens music scene during the fall season.  Folk Fest is a celebration of artistic comradery and DIY ethic, one that has created a community in and of itself and become a much loved tradition among those who have shared in the experience.  Since its introduction to Athens, Folk Fest has found its home.  Here the event has grown, developing an identity and a culture rooted in creative expression and acceptance, fostered by a family of like-minded supporters.

Folk Fest is not merely a party; it is full-fledged non-profit DIY festival.  Each year Folk Fest sells locally produced tee shirts, designed by our wonderful and talented friends, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Folk Fest is also partnered with national non-profit organization Love Hope Strength, offering those in attendance the opportunity to register to become a potentially life saving marrow donor for patients in need.

It is with all of this in mind that we are reaching out to YOU.  Folk Fest can't happen without you and it is with this that we are asking for your support.  Folk Fest is an expensive endeavor and gets pricier every year.  There are costs for nearly every aspect, from our stage to our shirts and everywhere in between.  In the past these expenses have been covered out of pocket, leaving our organizers in a state of financial distress.  With this campaign, we are seeking your support.  Your donation of any amount helps to guarantee that not only can Folk Fest live another year, but return even bigger and better than before in 2015!
