The Canadian Common Corps of Peace Officers is dedicated to ensuring that all Canadians can enjoy a country where the public peace is held paramount, and police are held accountable for breaching our peace. We do not believe they have the right to breach the public peace merely because they are generating revenue for their corporate masters.
The Criminal Code of Canada defines a peace officer in part as “(c) a police officer, police constable, bailiff, constable, or other person employed for the preservation and maintenance of the public peace or for the service or execution of civil process,” . Our goal is to secure judicial recognition of the fact that the ‘other persons’ are not necessarily employed by any level of government, but can be employed by members of the public and may consist of members of the public. We believe that the gravest danger to the public peace is any one group claiming a monopoly upon preserving and maintaining the public peace, recognizing that historically those who would claim a monopoly on such a duty, will eventually start to breach the public peace, or claim that failure to comply with their unlawful orders constitutes a breach of the public peace.
These duties, according to Robert Peel the father of modern policing, are incumbent upon all members of the public, and cannot be claimed by the police as their duty alone.
If you care about Canada and your rights, and the rights of your children and their children, if you do not want to see Canada devolve into a police state, we ask you act now and support us in our goal of securing judicial recognition of our rights as members of the public, and owners of the country, to act as peace officers, and to be treated accordingly.
We seek support to initiate legal action, create a defence fund for our members, establish national and provincial level councils, provide training and education, conduct a membership drive and expand public awareness.
We need to hold the police accountable to the law, and we need to be peace officers to do so. It’s about time our public servants start acting like servants instead of masters, and that means we need to stop acting like wards seeking our nannies’ permission, and instead act like masters dealing with rogue servants.
