Help send Miss Jr Teen Washington, Megan LaPlante, to compete at Miss Junior Teen United States July 1-5, 2015 in Washington DC.
On April 25th, 2015, Megan was crowned Miss Junior Teen Washington, after competing at-large as Miss Junior Teen Sky Valley. She will compete at Miss Junior Teen United States July 1-5 in the Nation's capital.
Areas of competition include swimwear, runway, evening gown, and personal interview.
"Preventing Teen Suicide through Hope and Awareness" is Megan's platform. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for people between the ages of 10 and 24 in Washington state, and third nationwide. Unfortunately, this is a subject that is painful and hard to talk about, but we need to talk about it. We hear in the news, too frequently, about teens who have ended their lives; just another one last week. As Megan puts it, "If I can impact just one life, then I will have been successful".
