# Pray For Brady

Donation protected

Brady is a bright smiled 10 year old, active, energetic, and able to brighten a room with his presence. Brady was learning to master riding the hoverboard he had just gotten for Christmas. February 4, 2021 Brady woke up with slurred speech and difficulty moving. Taken to the Emergency Room and sent home with no reasonable answers for why such a cheery and exuberant young man would have such fearful symptoms. Brady’s condition worsened. With a return to the Emergency Room the call for prayers quickly went out.

“NEED LOTS OF PRAYER PLEASE!! Don’t exactly know how to post this. Our sweet youngest boy Brady woke up this morningwith slurred speech. Any of you who know him know that this is NOT normal. We went to the ER and long story short got sent home with NO answers . We thought a stroke. He’s progressively gotten worse as the day has gone on. Mouth looking odd, drooling, right arm not working well, and speech is pretty much none. We are now back at the ER and needing answers. This is scary and overwhelming to say the least.” (Brady’s mother Sarah’s Facebook post)

The doctor’s diagnosis was possibly a stroke and arrangements for transport to Indianapolis and by the time Brady arrived at Riley Children’s Hospital he was not able to walk independently and could not talk. The answers pointed to a blockage in Brady’s brain that caused a moderate stroke.

Brady spent the weekend at Riley with a team of doctors, nurses, therapists, and his mother by his side. They worked with him diligently and dutifully to combat the effects and to find more answers to explain why this might have happened and to what extent the damage. Sarah spent the hours by Brady’s side with not only no relief, but unable to sleep between all the doctors, nurses, and therapists coming in the room.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions in place Tim remained home as the hospital would only allow one parent in the room and could only trade out every 24 hours.

As if not discouraged enough by the long hours and lack of sleep, the doctors were suggesting another 2 weeks to several months as they would not release Brady until they believed it to be safe for Brady and a solid therapy plan was in place.

The word was out and thousands from all over were praying, encouraging, sending cards, and offering to help however needed. A difficult position for a Momma Bear and a Firefighter who are usually at the front of the volunteer line.

Your prayers were heard and arrangements were made for Brady to continue therapy in Evansville. This would not rule out follow up trips to Indianapolis, but at least Brady will be able to be home.

Prayer is working, God is good!! Brady is home, but they face a long haul ahead. Tim has insurance through his job at the Evansville Fire Department and Brady will have assistance through Medicaid, but as you know, those won’t cover a lot of their immediate or long term needs.

So now is your chance!

Here are what some of their immediate needs will be:

-A good wheelchair
-Medical devices to help him walk
-An iPad to help him communicate
-Riley hospital stay
-Therapy at Riley
-Transport to Riley
-Modifications to their house for a wheelchair (I.e. a ramp, bathroom access, kick boards to protect walls and corners from a 10 year old with a new wheelchair)

Here are what some of their longer term needs will be:

-Pending additional therapies
-Additional required medical devices as Brady grows
-Sufficient transportation to make the trips to therapy and follow ups to Riley Hospital

An extremely conservative estimate for these is easily $10,000. All of what is received will go directly to Brady’s care.

You will be kept up with pending and received expenses as they arise and notified of progress that Brady is making.

Whether you are able to assist a little or a lot, every bit is a great help and greatly appreciated.

More importantly, Brady, Tim, Sarah, Brittany, Kaylee, Audrey, Emily, Isaiah, Sean, and Melanie appreciate your prayers the most.

Thank you soooo much for your prayers and support.
