MonsterChild's trip to Science Camp
Donation protected
Some know her as Monster Child, others as Face Eater and (imagine that) others as Morgan.
No matter the name that you are familiar with, this is one smart cookie! She's been invited to attend a week long Science Camp this summer. Unfortunately it's a bit more than we can swing at this time. So, I figured if the rest of the world can do this, so can we. Heck, I've pesonally donated to lesser causes.
At this camp, she will build her own robot and do obstacle courses with it (pretty cool!) do team building exercises, make multimedia presentations and even a bit of swimming and karaoke. This camp is only open to girls her age in the area and she's worked very hard over the years with her school work to make herself a great candidate. I would love to see this happen for her.
Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your consideration.
The Camps is called STEPS - Science Technology and Engineering Preview Summer camp
What is STEPS for Girls?
Science, Technology and Engineering Preview Summer (STEPS) at UW-Stout is a five-day summer camp for girls between their 6th and 7th grades in school.
STEPS offers an introduction to the exciting world of science, technology and engineering:
Hands-on experience with high-tech equipment and processes
Outstanding professors from the engineering, technology and science programs
Recreational and developmental activities such as bowling, swimming, a pizza and karaoke party
A ropes leadership and problem solving course
The week's activities include:
Analyzing, manufacturing and operating an obstacle-avoiding robot
Hands-on sessions in science and math
Creation of multimedia content articles about their experiences to share with family and peers.
