In 2010, a stellar coalition of grassroots good government advocates suggested to the international human rights community that certain avoidable gaps in America’s legal system allowed it to be rendered little more than a charade.
On October 10, 2018, the Communications Division of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) confirmed that may very well be true.
Opt IN USA is a grassroots U.S. foreign policy reform, judicial accountability, and human rights campaign that precipitated the UNHRC's referenced determinations.
Per the UNHRC, there is nothing manifestly ill-founded about Opt IN USA or the contention that its founders were or are being persecuted through U.S. legal system abuse for their related work as Human Rights Defenders.
Those founders are the late Rodney A. Logal, his wife Dr. Zena Crenshaw-Logal, and their colleague Dr. Andrew D. Jackson. Highly questionable judicial rulings by various Indiana courts subjected Rodney to, and continue subjecting Zena and Andrew to Opt IN USA-threatening economic duress.
Zena shares details of the persecution in the debut episode of "The Face of Vulnerability", her video series addressing how the world-wide crisis of attacks on Human Rights Defenders manifests in America.
Hopefully it resonates that :
(1) impoverishing the obvious financial benefactors of Opt IN USA is about shutting down Opt IN USA which occasioned the UNHRC's historical determination that America may well have a policy of judicial impunity that will not be overcome without international oversight/intervention;
(2) it is at least the UNHRC's opinion that when it comes to the role of U.S. judges in persistent US legal system abuse, pursuing appropriate accountability through domestic channels exclusively will be ineffective a/k/a futile;
(3) Opt IN USA has gotten a door open to much needed international oversight/intervention and an invitation for those directly impacted to "come on in" and tell the UNHRC more about their concerns; and
(4) if this door that Opt IN USA pried open is allowed to close, no such door may open again in the near future.
