The life of the Spence family was forever changed on Monday, June 1st 2015. Stacy was driving her two boys Landon (2 years) and Roman (5 weeks) to get lunch when a man traveling on the wrong side of the road blew through a red light and T-boned Stacy's car at an estimated speed between 75-90mph. Miraculously, the children were not injured. Stacy was not as lucky. She suffered a serious brain injury and had to have life saving surgery to relieve the pressure from her brain swelling. Since the accident she has made progress in relative terms. She is still bed ridden but small victories come in her ability to understand and communicate via thumbs up. Stacy is a fighter!
Her husband Jim has been by her side from the get go. He's the type of man you want in your corner. A veteran of two combat deployments to Iraq as an Infantryman, he is a man who can shoulder any burden. As a fellow Soldier on one of those deployments, trust me when I say he is used to just making stuff happen. He will never ask for help even when he needs it. This is why it is our turn to step up and help this family in their time of need.
Stacy has a long road to recovery and her family needs our help to remove the stress of finances so Stacy can just focus on getting better.
