Hi, my name is David Jetha, I'm 25 years old from Orlando, Fl and I play Magic: the Gathering.
I've been playing Magic for almost 8 years with my friends from college and I've been obsessed with the game ever since. Shortly after learning how to play, I would stay up late at night watching YouTube videos and live streams of professional Magic players playing the highest level of Magic on the Pro Tour, which is an invite-only tournament held 4 times a year for the best players in the world.
In 2012, I made a commitment to myself that I would play on the Pro Tour one day and work as hard as it took to make it there. I started a website, casualnetgaming.com that was dedicated to documenting my tournament reports, teaching new players how to play at a higher level, and countless discussions on how to be a strong role model in the community. This website became a diary that I was able to share with old and new friends whom continue to support me throughout my journey. After 2 long years of tears and countless hours learning to be a better player, I won a Pro Tour Qualifier and I was invited to Pro Tour Khans of Tarkir in Honolulu, HI in 2014. It was the most incredible experience in my life and I've been wanting to go back every since.
When I came home from Honolulu, I made a goal to reach Silver Pro Level, which is a total of 20 Pro Points during the yearly season (Aug '14- Aug '15), which would give me 2 ADDITIONAL Pro Tour invites. Attending the Pro Tour earlier gave me 3 Pro Points, so I started becoming more serious about my playing to try and win more Pro Points to reach 20.
Recently, I attended Grand Prix Las Vegas 2015, the largest Magic tournament in the world with roughly 8,000 people and was fortunate enough to make 4th place and be invited to another Pro Tour in Vancouver, BC later this year.

I never expected to ever go back to the Pro Tour and I'm beyond words to explain how excited I am for this opportunity. After a small handful of successful finishes, I have 8 Pro Points and will receive at least 3 more from Vancouver for a total of 11. My dream is to gain 9 more points before August so I can secure 2 more Pro Tour invites and Silver Pro Level.
However, the cost of travel and lodging is taking its toll and I need help to reach the Grand Prixs between now and August. I'm asking for $500 for Lodging and Travel for Grand Prix Dallas on July 25-26th, which would give me a huge shot at reaching the 9 points I need. Any excess money will be invested into lodigng for Vancouver and other traveling expenses.
This game means the world to me and I've met some of the most amazing friends playing this game. If I reach this goal, it will help me set aside more time to preparation for these tournaments and more time to writing more detailed tournament reports on the website.
