Wheels for Crystal

On the 6th of March 2015 Crystal Mae made her very early entrance to this world at 25 weeks, with every odd against her and born at a tiny 425 grams (yes your tub of butter weighed more ) she continued to fight her long scary battle to be her in this world. She spent 157 days in the NICU which was 3 hours away from where her family lived. Jess her mum sat by her side for the lengthy stay, are more time then not doctors walking in with “bad news”, but crystal never gave up her fight determination was something that she was definitely born with. She had infection after infection, a bleed on her brain, a whole in her heart and countless blood transfusions and platelets, her left lung collapsed but this still wasn’t enough to stop her fighting. For the first 3 months you couldn’t see her tiny body from all the tubes and wires. After 157 days she came home and ever since has been continuing to fight her battles that she knows as life. In the time from discharge till now she is a regular in our 3 main hospitals 2 of which are a 3-4 hour drive away. She attendeds appointments weekly, which she deals so well with. She has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy & Muscular dystrophy, she also suffers from seizures and brittle bones. As crystal is getting older reality of every day lifestyle is becoming a challenge but she strives through never letting her body hold her back no matter how hard it will fight her. This year 2019 she faces a year of a lot more surgeries and medical intervention and we would like to make this as comfortable as possible, after trying every avenue available to us we have been left no other choice to ask for help to help fund a car that suits her needs and make life a little less stressful, we are also hoping to cover some of the cost of her medical bills and accommodations during the next 12 months, we understand so many people are in the same boat as us living pay to pay and having no money to their names and we ask you don’t put yourself donating unless you truly can afford to do so
