Promoting Healing Power of Music
In 2007, I launched the blog Whole Music Experience and in 2013, I wrote the book, Whole Music to raise consciousness about the healing power of music. I spent ten years as a journalist and musician exploring musical traditions from around the world. I also interviewed international musicians, some quite famous.
The book has yet to be published and after living in between homes, I experienced a hiatus to my music research and writing work. I haven't made any money as a music researcher and the only way I can get back to this work is to receive $1,000 a month for the next 6 months.
This money will allow me to create podcasts that feature interviews with sound healers, musicians, and brain science experts in regard to music. I will upload the podcasts on YouTube and on my blog Whole Music Experience. I will also continue to write articles about the healing power of music on post-trauma and other topics.
This breaks down to 10 hours of work a week at $25 an hour. The 10 hours includes scheduling interviews, conducting interviews with experts by Skype, transforming those interviews into podcasts and then uploading them online. It also involves promoting the podcasts on social media.
I am also building a platform for my book, Whole Music (Soul Food for the Mind, Body, Spirit). This will help me publish and distribute the book worldwide, during a time where we need music as a healing balm.
