Help the Wildermuth Household

This is not something we would ordinarily do, but our family has endured just a few too many emotional and financial crises over the last 5 years, and now, we seriously need a little help to get over this latest series of unfortunate events.  My wife and I are both stay at home parents and we home school our disabled teenage daughter.  She has Cerebral Palsy, with severe ADHD and PTSD.  To be clear, despite being robbed of all of our most valuable possessions, being falsely accused of theft by checks (which had been stolen with everything else), a death of a close relative that lived with us and slow but constant loss of income and assistance from multiple sources, we (almost) always managed to get the bills paid every month, but there’s never been much left over.

In September, we were told that I need surgery on my foot “soon” to remove a bone spur and deep ingrown calluses.  Recovery time could be over a month or more.  The cost of the surgery is covered so that’s a non-issue, but at that point, we found ourselves with our main business computer broken down and no reliable vehicle for my wife to drive while my foot recovers.  At the beginning of October we received a bonus check and decided to repair our 1996 Chevy Lumina for the wife to drive, and that would have to serve as the family’s main Christmas present, as well.  We spent almost the entire amount to fix the head gaskets and begin to get it road worthy.  The mechanic did all the work and it ran beautifully for a little longer than half an hour when water reappeared in the oil.  When the heads were removed, cracks were found in the block, which had not appeared before.

We now find ourselves with about $7 in the bank and worse off than we were before.  The heads and other parts are now in the trunk, but we still owe the mechanic an additional $260 for his labor.  We now need to find a good, used short block and pay additional parts and labor to have the blocks swapped out and the "top end" reassembled.  Repairing or replacing the family's business computer could be considered a sort of "stretch goal" if we get more than enough donations needed to repair the Lumina's engine.

So if you can spare a few dollars (and a few prayers) to help get us back on track and over this hump, our family would be most grateful.
