Bill C-16 has been fast-tracked by Justin Trudeau and "amends the Canadian Human Rights Act to add gender identity and gender expression to the list of prohibited grounds of discrimination."

This amendment legislates that there is no objective gender, and opens the doors, quite literally, to biologic males having full access to women's bathrooms and change-rooms across Canada.

This is a justice issue for women and girls everywhere. Below I point to both right-wing conservatives and left-wing feminists who express this concern. This legislation enshrines in law that "WOMAN" means nothing. The funds raised for this campaign will be used to further this message which I believe is the most pressing practical concern of the bill, and is also the message the most likely to defeat the Bill.

More specifically, funds will be used:
- To launch our website: WOMANmeanssomething.com which includes all sorts of resources for your use, including detailed reasoning and stories about why Bill C-16 inherently destroys women's rights.
- To do a Postering Campaign in Toronto, Vancouver, and campuses that will hit a much broader audience than just conservatives and family-values. We believe this is key as the message is one that will work in the broader community.
- To grow our campaign and organization.
- We promise to use these funds effectively and are pouring our own money into this effort.

The WOMANmeanssomething website is now live and it will be the primary place to get updates on the campaign.

If you have not already done so, please take action yourself:
1) Sign the Petition
2) Contact the Senators

We have a short time to act as the Bill has passed third reading in the House of Commons, and only the Senate stands in it's way.

Meghan Murphy, National Observer
"While the media has framed the debate around gender identity as one of left vs. right, there is a key perspective that is missing from the conversation: the feminist one.
Preventing discrimination is something most of us want to support, but incorporating notions of "gender identity" and "gender expression" into Canadian legislation is not a progressive step. In our desire to be open-minded and inclusive, we have failed to consider how this move poses a risk to sex-based protections for women and girls.
Women's spaces — including homeless shelters, transition houses, washrooms, and change rooms — exist to offer women protection from men. It isn't men who fear that women might enter their locker rooms and flash, harass, assault, abuse, photograph, or kill them… This reality is often left unaddressed in conversations around gender identity. This reality is sex-based, not identity-based. Men cannot identify their way out of the oppressor class so easily, neither can women simply choose to identify their way out of vulnerability to male violence."

Mancheeze
"In fact, because gender identity relies on ‘sense’, all a male has to do is claim he’s a woman and he’ll be allowed into any women’s space he wants. Women’s shelters, prisons, organizations, sports teams, events, etc. are now all open any male who ‘senses’ he’s a woman.
Say goodbye to women-only spaces. Say goodbye to privacy. Say goodbye to women’s sports. Say goodbye to safety. Say goodbye to your class protections.
Men want in.
Say goodbye to sisterhood."

Help us fight this crucial battle.
