Invest in Women FIRST: Providing Education After Prison
The Women FIRST Clinic provides classes for formerly incarcerated women to pursue educational goals. The clinic also provides transportation, childcare, dinner, and individual tutoring, as well as, professional and personal mentorship.
Through a partnership between Women With a Vision and the Louisiana Prison Education Coalition, the Women FIRST Clinic launched a pilot session in the Summer of 2016. 10 women participated in the pilot and attended classes to work towards educational goals.
We currently have 30 women on a waiting list to participate in the next session. Clearly, women want and need a space to pursue educational goals after prison.
We need your support.
