Tuition, Lodging, and Transportation for Women\'s Campaign School at Yale

Donation protected

Welcome!

I thank you for being a part of my journey to success!  Recently, I received my acceptance letter from the Women\'s Campaign School at Yale University.  The WCS at Yale University is a non-partisan, issue-neutral, leadership program, whose mission is to increase the number and influence of women in elected and appointed office in the United States and around the globe.  Notable alumnae include Class of 1999\'s Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford and Class of 2003\'s Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

Mission

The Women's Campaign School at Yale thrives upon providing the best training in the world for women who want to run for office or who want to move up the ladder to higher elective office.  Women are trained to run political campaigns and advance their careers in public service, by building relationships, despite their political point-of-view.

Importance

Every year, more than a thousand women from around the world apply to the WCS at Yale for a class of 60-75. Participants are put through an intense political immersion program designed to teach campaign skills, strategic assessment, and improvisation taught by experienced campaign operatives. As part of this amazing curriculum, the participants are encouraged to do fundraising for tuition and costs as they would for a campaign.

This program will not only help me advance in my career, but serve as training for me to give back to the community. Even in 2011, the need for adequate representation of women and minorities in government continues to grow. After graduating from the WCS, I plan to work to advance representation on behalf of those who need it the most.

Where does your Money Go????

The money collected will go towards my tuition ($1,250.00) , lodging ($600.00) for 6 days in New Haven, Connecticut, and transportation ($150.00). Donations in any amount would be greatly appreciated in helping to reach my goal of $2,000.00.  Every $1, $5, $10 or $50 pushes me closer to my goal!!!

Supporters can also help by spreading the word by way of social media.

Timeline

Training at the Women's Campaign School at Yale takes place from July 11, 2011- July 15, 2011.  All funds are due as soon as possible in order to secure my spot in the class and lodging accommodations.

Thank you so much for your support as I embark on this phase of my life!

Best,

 Kenisha
