Port City Men's Chorus

The Port City Men's Chorus,  from Mobile, Alabama, is a volunteer community chorus organized to provide an opportunity for gay and gay-friendly men to sing together. This builds fellowship among the singers, and allows for outreach opportunities to the greater Gulf Coast community.

Our focus is communication through the universal language of song, with a repertoire consisting of all genres of music from classical to rock and pop.   We welcome all singers eighteen years of age and older with no audition required.

We want to reach out to the entire community through music, so our concerts are usually free or very affordable. Reasonable member dues allow us to buy music, travel to other communities to perform, and pay  our director and accompanist. Because of recent expanded opportunities for service to the community, the ensemble has had to invest in additional sheet music, recording rights, and equipment.

In addition to these recent expenses, we are eager to participate in the GALA convention of gay and gay-allied choruses in Denver, Colorado in July, 2016.  However, this participation requires travel and lodging funds for all our members, most of whom are students, retirees, and working guys. Most of us will not be able to attend GALA without financial assistance.

We ask everyone to donate to our GALA convention travel costs, and the additional materials - music, rehearsal expenses, and equipment - necessary to prepare for this convention performance. Visit our web page to see videos of recent performances at www.portcitymenschorus.org
