Help For The Family Of Liam Miller
Donation protected
To all our family, friends, loved ones, community, and world:
There can be no words to heal the pain of losing a child which is what we are now experiencing. Liam Scott Miller lived to be just 5 years old and passed into the arms of the angels peacefully but suddenly and unexpectedly in his sleep on June 20th 2015 while we (his parents, Chloe & Brandon Miller) were away on vacation.
Liam was loved and cared for by many people. He has touched many lives with his hugs and kisses and generally sweet and determined nature.
Liam suffered a traumatic brain injury at 6 weeks old as the result of an abusive biological father. The brain injury caused him to develop cerebral palsy, visual impairment, seizures, and failure to thrive for which he had a feeding tube but still would not gain weight. We endured many struggles but the fact that he survived and fought as hard as he did was a miracle for all of us to witness.
Liam has a young sister named Autumn. She is just 1 year old and does not fully understand the reason for our pain but I know seeing us all hurt so much is upsetting to her. This is the very definition of a tragedy. Unfortunately, it is not the first I have experienced but is by far the most damaging. Among the damages, we will be losing almost all of our income as a result of our child's passing. The social security and PCA wages we were getting as a result of my son's disabilities helped us to maintain a comfortable life. We were able to give Liam everything he needed and more. Now we are facing losing our vehicle, our home, will struggle with buying groceries, and paying our phone bills.
There is little anyone can say to give us comfort at this deeply painful time. Waking up and walking past Liam's bedroom door knowing I will never say "good morning!" to him again or kiss, hold, or read him a book has shattered my heart. I personally feel paralyzed and panicked due to the significant loss of both my child and my income.
Any amount anyone donates will be used to pay our rent so we can keep our home, keep a running vehicle, buy food for ourselves and daughter, and for any funeral costs we may be responsible for so that we can take the time needed to heal and not worry about further loss and suffering for our family.
To anyone who offers support of any kind, I thank you from the bottom of my broken heart.
Sincerely,
Chloe Shablo (mother), Brandon Miller (father), & Autumn Miller (sister)
