I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at age 12. For the past two decades I have been living with the disease and using medication to control it.
In the past year or so, however, the medication has not been helping enough. Between the symptoms of the disease and the side effects from the treatment, I have been feeling unwell an increasing amount. This has affected my personal and professional life.
So I finally decided to get the colostimy surgery. However, the surgery is expensive, even after I have met my insurance deductible. I'm asking for help raising the funds I need to pay for the procedure.
If 100 people donate just $20 each, that will be enough to meet my initial goal and keep me from having to do something drastic like declare bankruptcy.
