Zander W. Hartman, known by family and friends as "Z" is in critical condition at the DC Children's Hospital in Washington, D.C.
On Saturday, June 20, 2015, Zander, along with friends and family members had successfully crossed two lanes of traffic, but had to stop in the median of the intersection when the crossing signal changed.
"For unknown reasons," Zander then "darted out into the right lane of northbound (Route 1) directly in the path" of a Cheverolet Suburban, which struck him.
"Z" was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury for treatment and was later transferred to DC Children's Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he is in critical condition.
