Paige's new used car

My car is a 2000 Grand Caravan that just took its last drive. My mother was driving my car when the brakes suddenly stopped working. She quickly shifted it into park and managed to make it home. On 6/23/15, we dropped it off at the mechanic and midday 6/24, they called us telling us that oil had leaked into a main cylinder of the car. It would cost $1500 to fix and the car is not worth that much. With my mom's car being recently in an accident (shown in the image), I need a car ASAP before her's gives out and has to go in for fixing.

I found a car for $2880. Its a bit banged up but its interally fine. I would rather another car I found but it was $3700 and begers can't be choosers... 

If me and my mother cut down on everything, we should have about $650 extra to put forward but the dealer only accepts one payment. I would appreciate any at all help with this!!
