Help Autistic Student Fund College
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kevin Kopsco. I’m starting this GoFundMe because I need help paying for my college tuition. Up until now, I’ve been receiving loans from Sallie Mae cosigned by my dad, but earlier this year, my dad was laid off, leaving me with no other options to get funded. On top of that, I just transferred to the Boston Conservatory, where I was awarded a small scholarship, but not enough to cover all of my tuition. Boston Conservatory is a school where I finally found what I needed to make my dreams a reality in my career, and now I’m having to possibly push aside my dreams just because I can’t afford them.
I’m 27 years old and still trying to finish my bachelors. I have had so many issues related to my Autism, as well as my ADHD, that have made functioning in normal society rather difficult and incredibly stressful and depressing. How many times have I asked myself, “What is wrong with you?! Why can’t you be normal?!” I’ve tried and failed so many times, but now I’m consistently succeeding with deans list all through my time at Berklee College of Music, as well as a successful production of part 1 of my musical “Tinn Kisten.” Despite my success, I’m still being forced to give it up and get a minimum wage job to pay for the loans that didn’t even help me finish ONE degree. Even one degree would help pay back the loans much easier since I would be qualified for a job in my field.
Boston Conservatory is the staple school that will help make me successful. As a composer, I need top quality musicians to record my compositions, and if I don’t get top quality recordings, then I don’t have a career and no one will take me seriously. I’m only asking for one semester’s worth of what I need in tuition because I believe that, if worst comes to worst, just ONE semester will be so incredibly beneficial to me that I’ll be able to take all that I did and make myself into something because of it.
I ask all of you to please, find it in your heart to help a person with learning disabilities finally realize their dreams after a life of depression, anxiety, suicidal tendencies, failure and pain. There were so many times I didn’t think I could take the horrors of my life, and music was my saving grace. If it wasn’t for my ability to play and write music, I may have succumbed to my darker impulses and may not even be here today. If you truly believe someone can start at the bottom and rise to the top, please help me do that. I need just under 11 thousand and any more than that would help in spades. To go the full year, I’d need 21,000.
I can’t thank you enough to anyone who gives any little bit to help my cause. Here are some prize insentives:
1 to 9$: you’ll be announced in my next performance program and it will be emailed to you.
10$: I’ll write you a text tone with your name in it.
