Yasam Icin Yaris (RFL Turkey)

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world.

 Cancer affects everyone; the young and old, rich and poor, men, women and children.  It represents a tremendous burden on patients, families and societies.

1 in 6 people, globally, die from cancer and no-one knows where or when it will strike next.

 Cancer in Turkey

 Turkey has a population of 78.6 million citizens.

 Every year 0.23% of the total population people will be diagnosed with cancer.

 Approximately 350 of those people will live in Fethiye - these people may feel fit and healthy today but will have been diagnosed with one of the 200 types of cancer by this time next year. 

 Yaşam İçin Yarış (Race For Life) Fethiye*

 In 2015, a group of expats brought the idea to Turkey and organised the first Yaşam İçin Yarış in Fethiye.

 A committee was formed with people from FETAV and the local community (both Turkish and European) arranged the first Yaşam İçin Yarış.

 Yaşam İçin Yarış covers a 5km route and entrants can run, jog or walk it the course.

 This has now become an annual event in Fethiye.
