Ken's Landslide Recovery Fund

For the last five years, my good friend Ken has dreamed of living in a place of sanctuary somewhere off the beaten path. Last spring, he came across a property just north of Pemberton and he quickly went to work to completely rehab it from top to bottom.
On September 20th, as he was putting in the final insulation under the floors, Ken's house was struck by the Birken Landslide. His house, and almost all of his belongings are buried under between 3 to 10 feet of mud. 5 of his 6 acres are under 15 ft of mud and debris. He has lost his dream. And worst of all, his insurance offers no assitance as this is considered an "Act of God".
Please help Ken at this time, as he will need to hire an excavation team with heavy machinery, buy construction materials, and replace his tools which are buried in the mud in order to begin the process of digging out, securing, and repairing what he can from his property before winter.
Maybe you know Ken or have heard the stories on the news, or maybe not. But everyone can feel the heartbreak of a man who has lost not only his dream, but also his home.
From Ken's Facebook: "As a few of you are aware, my new home in Birken was hit by a landslide on Sunday, the 20th of September. No one was hurt, but both mine and my neighbor Rob Elliot’s properties suffered catastrophic damage. Thankfully, we were all evacuated on time are incredibly lucky to be alive.
In short, the place was heaven and I’m gonna miss it like hell, but life goes on. Thanks to all my incredible friends who worked on the acreage with me over the past months and are right here by my side as I go thru this. Hug your loved ones, pet your dogs. Life is a gift."
